IMAX and Disney have announced that they have renewed their partnership deal beginning this year until 2017. In turn, films such as "Captain America: Civil War" and "Star Wars: Rogue One" will be released in IMAX's technology.

"Corporation (NYSE:IMAX) and The Walt Disney Studios, a division of The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS), have renewed their exhibition agreement with a multi-picture deal, beginning this year and extending through 2017, that includes live-action and animated tentpole releases from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm," the press release for both companies stated.

Other films highlighted in the deal are: "Star Wars: Episode VIII," "Ant-Man," "Doctor Strange," "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," "Thor: Ragnarok," "Finding Dory," "Toy Story 4," "The Finest Hours," "Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass," "The Jungle Book" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales."

"Our relationship with Disney has continued to strengthen after having released 25 films in IMAX theatres since 2009. The films in this new agreement promise to continue to provide IMAX audiences the highest-quality films available," IMAX CEO Richard L. Gelfond said.

"We are extremely happy to build upon our growing relationship with Disney, working together with its various film banners to bring unparalleled entertainment to IMAX audiences around the world," Greg Foster, Senior Executive Vice President, IMAX Corp. and CEO of IMAX Entertainment said.

Each film will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of "The IMAX Experience" with the help of proprietary "IMAX DMR" (Digital Re-mastering) technology. It will certainly create a one-of-a-kind experience that will make viewers feel as if they are inside the movie itself.

Meanwhile, a fan poster for "Star Wars: Rogue One" was previously revealed by Ryan Crain from Movie Pilot. It depicted an intimate, emotional scene with cosplayer Victoria Schmidt, also known as Scruffy Rebel. This time, Crain posted another version of the poster showing Scruffy Rebel in a more traditional power pose.
