"Dragon Ball Super" episode 1 premiered in Japan last Jul. 5.
Attack of the Fanboy reported that "Dragon Ball Super" episode 1 looked stunning with its HD animation quality. It was said to be much better than "Dragon Ball Z Kai." The first episode of the new "Dragon Ball Z" TV series depicted the characters living their normal lives. Goku was seen doing actual work other than training or fighting a bad guy.
There was not much action "Dragon Ball Super" episode 1. The only action in the story was when Trunks and Goten fought a giant snake. However, they did not go Super Saiyan or fused to Gotenks. Trunks punched the snake easily.
It was previously reported that Beerus would be making his appearance in "Dragon Ball Super" episode 1. Some aliens tried to poison the God of Destruction, who easily got rid of them. The ending of the first episode of the new "Dragon Ball Z" TV series showed Kibito Kai and Elder Kai, who may be talking about a new threat to Earth.
The next "Dragon Ball Super" episode will reportedly focus on Vegeta as he plans to take Bulma and Trunks to a family trip. This will show another side of the seemingly serious character, similar to how Goku was depicted in the first episode.
"Vegeta goes out with Bulma and Trunks to a resort area," the show's episode summary stated. "Bulma and Trunks are very happy with this unexpected family time together! But even as he's doing this, Vegeta is bothered that Goku is off training?! Training under the 10 times gravity on Planet Kaiō is perfect! In spite of the nuisance to Kaiō, Goku starts his training, but what is his surprising training method?!"
"Dragon Ball Super" is set to premiere on Japanese televisions in July every Sunday at 9 a.m. It will be the first new "Dragon Ball Z" TV series since "Dragon Ball GT" which aired from 1996 to 1997. The story is set a few years after Goku defeated Majin Buu.
