"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" has recreated their ranked play system and upgraded the CODcasting as well as the types of weapons, gears and Specialists.
VG247 reported that the game will also feature a new Arena system for ranked competitive play. Players who consecutively win in this mode will go higher up the ranks to the Masters division. Treyarch showcased the new features of the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" gameplay during Gamescom 2015.
Specialists in the "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will have powerful weapons and abilities that are earned during matches. The Specialist Draft, a pre-match selection process, encourages teams to plan each player's role well. Each team is only allowed one of each Specialist weapon or ability in some Arenas and tournaments.
Six Specialists have been revealed: Ruin, Seraph, Outrider, Reaper, Prophet and Nomad. Ruin's main weapon is Gravity Spikes and his main ability is Overdrive. Seraph utilizes a massive high-caliber revolver with penetration rounds called the Annihilator and her ability is Combat Focus.
Outrider has a bow with explosive bolts and her ability is Vision Pulse while Reaper uses the Scythe. Prophet's ability is the Glitch while Nomad as the ability to recover quickly from near death, called Rejack.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" also has a new Bans and Protects system where each player can vote on which content from Create-a-Class, Scorestreaks or Specialists they want to ban or protect.
The CODcaster mode's updated features include the new Quick Settings and the return of the X-Ray mode, Listen-In and Full-Screen view. Plus, the return of the fan-favorite Uplink mode in "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" allows players to battle in an effort to send a satellite to the enemy.
According to Engadget, the new and upgraded features in "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" looks similar to "Dota 2." This may be Treyarch's attempt to make the game as massive as "Dota 2" and "League of Legends."
