Newest "Days of Our Lives" spoilers and cast updates reveal that the start of a new jaw-dropping storyline will begin soon, and it will start with a familiar face's return.
According to reports, Steve "Patch" Johnson will be heading back to Salem on Aug. 28.
"Days of Our Lives fans are about to get back a beloved character," Inquisitr reported. "Steve 'Patch' Johnson is returning home to Salem, and viewers will get their first glimpse of Steve later this month when he comes home and brings with him his now teenage son, Joey, who has run away from home and his mother, Kayla Brady."
But Patch is not the only one returning, as reports confirmed a slew of other characters will be making a comeback too.
"Characters who are set to return along with Steve 'Patch' Johnson include his best friend, Bo Brady, played by Peter Reckell, Bo's son, Shawn Douglas Brady, played by Jason Cook, Shawn's wife, Belle Black, portrayed by Martha Madison, Sami Brady, played by fan favorite actress Alison Sweeney, Philip Kiriakis, Andre DiMera, and many more," the report added.

On Monday, Hope (Kristian Alfonso) fears she's put Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove) in danger; Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) asks Abigail Kate Mansi) to give Chad another chance; after his fight with Will (Guy Wilson), Sonny (Freddie Smith) rushes off to see Paul (Christopher Sean).
Tuesday's episode will see Sonny make a decision that leaves Will and Paul heartbroken; danger threatens Aiden and Hope's evening; Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail have a tense encounter; J.J. (Casey Moss) takes a big risk to get the goods on Kyle (Michael Cardelle).
Thursday, Aiden lies to Hope about seeing his assailant; Marlena confronts John (Drake Hogestyn); someone picks up on Rafe's feelings for Hope; J.J. tells Paige he still loves her.
Finally on Friday, "Days of Our Lives" spoilers for Aug. 17 to 21 tease that Eve (Kassie DePaiva) vows to destroy J.J.'s plans; Clyde threatens Aiden; John (Drake Hogestyn) tries to move along his reconciliation plans with Marlena; Caroline (Peggy McCay) and Victor (John Aniston) bond when he pays her a late night visit at the hospital.
