Hayden Christensen's return is baffling "Star Wars" fans and it seems he won't don the black helmet in episode 8 after all.

Previous reports have revealed that return of the actor behind Anakin Skywalker Hayden Christensen is almost confirmed after he has been allegedly in training for episode 8. According to a report by MakingStarWars, "A team in the U.K. are soon heading to the U.S. to begin training Hayden Christensen for a 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' appearance of some sort."

However, the return of Hayden Christensen to "Star Wars" remains blurry, given that Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader seems to have perished in the last installment of the franchise, "Return of the Jedi" released in 1983. Now, if indeed Hayden Christensen reprises his role in "Star Wars," after "The Force Awakens" has been released, it could be as Anakin and not Darth Vader.

Apart from the fact that Anakin Skywalker already made his last appearance as a ghostly entity in the 1983 film, his return as Darth Vader could be quite unlikely. Other reports have pointed out that Hayden Christensen's return to "Star Wars" could be through flashbacks, possibly even to solve the mystery of Rey in "The Force Awakens."

Meanwhile, the possibility of Hayden Christensen's return as Darth Vaders grows dimmer after "The Force Awakens" since there have been rumors that Snoke could actually take on the black helmet.

According to Cinemablend, the resemblance of Snoke and Darth Vader is uncanny. While if such occurs, Hayden Christensen's return to "Star Wars" could simply be a flashback since Snoke will be his current physical state. The same report pointed out the almost-confirmed death of Darth Vader is his last movie appearance.

"Darth Vader is on death's door the last time we see him at the end of 'Return of the Jedi,' Luke removes his father's helmet, knowing that without it he'll die anyway," the report pointed out. "Even if he didn't necessarily need the helmet, he needed the rest of the suit as he was missing most of his limbs following his battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi."

Regardless of his return, Hayden Christensen is expected to make a comeback in the next "Star Wars" and how he will be presented in episode 8 is something that fans will have a hard time waiting for.
