Nina Dobrev apparently has no plans on coming back to "The Vampire Diaries'" despite its showrunner expressing in the news that the show would welcome her back anytime she wanted to return.
According to a report, one of the purported reason for her hesitance was ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder.
In an item on Celeb Dirty Laundry, it was mentioned that a comeback on the TV series apparently didn't appeal to the former Elena Gilbert actress.
"If the producers asked her to come back to the show, Nina would laugh at them," an insider told the source above.
It was even purported in the news that part of the reason Nina Dobrev wasn't that much fond of "The Vampire Diaries" anymore was her ex Ian Somerhalder and the memories she had with him on the series.
"Nina has tried to stay strong watching Ian and Nikki flaunt their relationship in her face, then witnessed them rush to the altar," the insider explained. "And now she's at the point of regretting her time on 'The Vampire Diaries' completely. Nina knows that if she had never done the show, she wouldn't have fallen in love with Ian in the first place."
The Bulgarian-Canadian actress has yet to address showrunner Julie Plec's recent statement that they miss her on the vampire TV series. But back in September, she said she was done with it.
"That chapter is closed, sadly - bittersweet," the 27-year-old actress spilled to Entertainment Weekly.
It was only two weeks ago that fans of "The Vampire Diaries" got their hopes up after news surfaced that Julie Plec missed Nina Dobrev on the TV series.
"On an emotional level, it's sad because she's Nina and she was Elena and we all love her and loved that character, but on a creative level, it's been refreshing in ways that I cannot even explain," Plec said during the 2016 TCA Winter Press Tour as quoted by Variety. "Yes, I miss her deeply and would take her back in an instant if she called and said, 'Hey, can I come back and play?'"
