Multiple rumors of Apple iPod Touch 6G release date surfaced last year, with not a single of those rumors proven true. This 2015, it seems like all signs are pointing at a 2015 release date.
It has been a while since the classic Apple device predecessor has been released. The Apple iPod Touch 5G was released last Oct. 11, 2012 and looking at the pattern of each iPod Touch release, the device has been released yearly since 2007 (1st gen). With that said, it means that the 6th gen has been long overdue.
But it seems like the long wait will be over, as new reports from the Stabley Times hints that the iPod Touch 6th Generation is indeed shooting for a 2015 release date. Although Apple has yet to make an announcement, the alleged specs and details seem plausible.
The report from Stabley Times went into detail about the device's rumored specs. The article noted that the next iPod Touch will have the same hardware of the iPhone 6. Thus, it might include Apple's A8 processor and the 1GB RAM.
Also, the size of the device was tackled. This came from the idea that if the hardware components of iPhone 6 will be retained, might as well make it the same size. The iPhone 6 have a 4.7 and 5.5 inch screen while the current gen have a 4″ design. The big question will be whether Apple enthusiasts want another big gadget to bring along.
The colors are purportedly being retained as it has been one of the selling points of the Apple iPod Touch 5G. As per the Apple iPod Touch 6G release date, the website stated that it might come shortly after New Year. Possible timeframe could be February-April.
