"Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F," also known as "Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F," is the 19th feature film for the "Dragon Ball" series and the 15th movie with the "Dragon Ball Z" branding. The upcoming film is set to be released on Apr. 18, 2015 and is the 2nd film which is personally supervised by Akira Toriyama, creator of the series.
The movie will focus on the return of Frieza, who is the main villain, as well as the God of Destruction Beerus and Whis; both from "Battle of Gods." "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F" will be the first Japanese film to be screened in 2D and iMax 3D theaters.
"An Earth where peace has arrived. However, remnants of Frieza's army Sorbet and Tagoma (from the Japanese word for 'egg') arrive on the planet. Their goal is to revive Frieza with the dragon balls. Their dastardly wish is granted, the "F" that plans its revenge against the Saiyans is revived...!" Anime News Network reported the movie's plot.
The trailer promises to be another action-packed adventure with Son Goku and the gang as they face Frieza's revenge. The opening scene showed Frieza being torn in half and, afterwards, we see a lot of energy attacks from both sides of the battle. Other main characters such as Vegeta, Son Gohan, Krillin, Piccolo, Tenshinhan, Trunks and Kame-Sennin will also make their appearance in the film.
Frieza's newest form is unveiled at 0:39 in the "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F" trailer. He is depicted as completely golden with purple highlights all over. He also appears to be even more powerful with this form as we see further in the clip that his mere kick packs quite a punch.
New characters created by Akira Toriyama are Sorbet and Tagoma. These characters are his servants and are the survivors of Frieza's army. Sorbet is an alien who became the head of the army after the villain's death while Tagoma is his bodyguard.
