Apple recently unveiled its newest MacBook and it's golden! The newest 12-inch power notebook specs include a 12-inch retina display and even a new feature called Force Track. Read on for release date details, price and full specs!
It was during Apple's "Spring Forward" event that the newest gold MacBook stole the spotlight. Apart from its newest colors --- gold and space gray --- the latest MacBook will also come in its signature silver hue. The release date is announced for April 10.
Apart from the one USB-C port that will require a separately sold multiport adaptor, the gold MacBook will have even more features come release date. Among these is the new technology known as the Force Touch for the trackpad, and that this latest MacBook is the first to come without a built-in fan making it even quieter than ever before.
"With the new MacBook comes a whole new way to experience a trackpad," announced Apple. "The Force Touch trackpad is engineered to deliver a responsive, uniform click no matter where you press the surface. And underneath, force sensors detect how much pressure you're applying and give you new ways to interact with your Mac."
"You can now use a Force click to enable new capabilities, like quickly looking up the definition of a word or previewing a file just by clicking and continuing to press on the trackpad. You'll also experience haptic feedback - a tactile vibration from the trackpad that adds the sense of touch to what you see on the screen. These advanced capabilities work in addition to all the intuitive Multi-Touch gestures Mac users love. You'll be more in touch with your Mac than ever before. Without lifting a finger."
The gold MacBook runs on a fifth generation Intel Core M processor that allows the latest notebook to work without a fan --- therefore making it even more quiet.
The newest MacBook's price starts at $1,299 for 8GB RAM with 256GB of flash storage. For an additional $300, you can get the gold MacBook upgrade with 512Gb of flash storage at $1,599.
