Zayn Malik, a member of One Direction, has just decided to forgo with the rest of his band's tour around Asia due to stress.
Malik, who rose to fame after Simon Cowell made him a member of One Direction in one of the seasons of X Factor, left his band mates while they were still in Hong Kong for a commercial recording. In an official statement released by the band, he is under a significant amount of stress and needs to get home to his family in the United Kingdom to recuperate.
This means that he isn't going to be with Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson for their Manila, Philippines, performances on March 21 and 22, as well as their tour date in Jakarta, Indonesia, on March 25. It's also unclear if he's going to come back for the remaining days of the tour, but they're hoping he will by the time the band is already in Johannesburg, South Africa, for their March 28 and 29 performances.
Although the statement didn't cite the main reason for the stress, speculations are mounting that it has something to do with his personal life. Recently a photo of him and an Essex girl named Lauren went viral, showing them holding hands and in a tight embrace while in Thailand. Malik is currently engaged with another celebrity, Perrie Edwards. None of the couple discuss about the issue greatly.
Meanwhile, Malik is also a subject of a cash bond along with a fellow band member Tomlinson. The Bureau of Immigration of the Philippines has just demanded concert organizers to pay around £3,000 as protection of "public interest," in case they engage in any illegal drug activity. It can be recalled that last May 2014, the two members were caught in a video allegedly smoking weed while in Peru. Anti-drug advocates will be closely monitoring their activities while the band is touring in the nation's capital.
