An Australian woman was forced to wear a mask for two years after she's been doused by a jealous wife.

Dana Vulin was a picture of beauty and life. She's smart, beautiful, and sexy who likes spending time with her family and friends. It was during a New Year's Eve party with some pals that she met a fitness instructor Edin Dimitrovska, who chatted with her while omitting very vital information: he's not divorced but only legally separated.

Edin was then married to Natalia who was of Macedonian descent. She was desperate to reconcile with her husband that when she learned he had been talking to Dana, she went into a fit of rage. She started leaving hateful and threatening messages on her cell phone and telephone.

One day, early in the morning, Natalia and a male accomplice trespassed in her apartment while high, demanding to know his husband's whereabouts. Otherwise, she'd burn her. After some arguments, Natalia doused her in methylated spirits, and she was literally on fire.

By the time she was brought to the hospital, she had a very slim chance of surviving after more than 60% of her body suffered from third-degree burns, including her face.

For the next two years, she wore the mask to keep her skin intact while she underwent countless resurfacing therapy and skin grafting. She also had to wear a body suit to protect the rest of her skin, which can no longer perspire. To make sure that she could maintain as much mobility as possible with her limbs, she spent hours working with a physical therapist.

During the course of her treatment, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer after a routine pap smear, although she is already free after she underwent surgery.

Natalia was later convicted of the crime and is sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Dana, meanwhile, wanted to set herself free, and so, late last year, in national television, she unveiled her new face as she said good-bye to a mask she grew to love and hate at the same time.
