The ad campaign for "Halo 5: Guardians" has reached new heights with more than 3 million views and 56,000 links to social media sites like Google, Facebook and Twitter.

"Hunt the Truth" is the title for the campaign and, true to its name, it encourages the players to hunt for the truth and find clues to the game's story as well as other information for "Halo 5: Guardians." One of the clues revealed that the upcoming sci-fi shooter game will be launched worldwide on Oct. 27.

This aggressive marketing campaign seems to have worked since the three separate ads have a huge digital reach since it was released. These commercials, combined, represented a 7 percent share of all online conversations produced by TV-based advertisements.

"Halo is doing extremely well in aggregate, without question," Charlie Foster, an iSpot.tv analyst, told Gamesbeat.

iSpot.tv can track data from online activity and correlates it with the timing and location of each person talking about it on social media. The company will then take that information and give it to its clients in order to give them an idea of how well their commercials are faring.

"It's important to look at what iSpot.tv is measuring here - the ad creatives. Halo as an enterprise is massive, and there's plenty of discussion about the brand and its games in general," a spokesperson for the company said.

Frank O'Connor, development director for the game, gave fans a hint on the next "Hunt the Truth" episode. In another tweet, the development director wrote that the next episode will have layers of mystery.

"Next episode of #huntthetruth goes to a dark place," O'Connor tweeted.

With these hints, it is highly likely that the next "Hunt the Truth" episode might feature Master Chief and/or Spartan Locke in a dark planet or cave. The plot for "Halo 5: Guardians" will focus on Spartan Locke trying to hunt Master Chief.
