This week, photographs that circulated the media showing actress Renée Zellweger at the Elle Magazine's Women in Hollywood event have lit up the Internet as more and more people become increasingly interested about the drastic changes that the actress' face has undergone.

Zellweger, who fans know best from her roles in movies like "The Bridget Jones Diary" and "Jerry Maguire", looked almost unrecognizable us she debuted her dramatically different look at the event. Now, cosmetic surgeons are waiting in on the issue, saying that the apparent physical transformation could be due to minor cosmetic procedures, in combination with what Zellweger says was a result of "lifestyle changes and natural aging."

Drs. Michael C. Edwards and Stuart Linder, President of the American Cancer Society for Aesthetic the Surgery and a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, respectively, said that the actress looks so different because it was her most distinctive features that were the ones that had undergone the most significant amount of change.  While observing a photograph of Zellweger, the doctors said that it does not seem like she had undergone invasive surgery, but admitted that the changes were still remarkable.

Dr. Edwards said that the appearance of Zellweger's eye area created the biggest difference in her appearance saying, "That's what made her Renée Zellweger." Dr. Linder observed that her eyelids appear to contain less fat and that her eyebrows seem a bit lower.  He also said that, "The face looks fuller in the lower third, and the eyes have totally changed from what they originally looked like. I feel that her brows are positioned differently, the lateral brow is lower than it was in previous photos."  He also said that the actress could have had the fat pads on her lower eyelids removed as well.

The doctors also said that the changes in her jawline could be due to cosmetic fillers, but that the rest of the changes to the actresses face could, in fact, be a result of weight loss and natural aging.
