Stress pops up in different forms that may or may not be anticipated. It has become a normal part of the modern lifestyle, what with the varying stimulants, jobs and tasks, connections, people, purchases, bills, challenges, and responsibilities that need to be dealt with.

According to research, stress has been found to affect not only mental and emotional health, but physical health as well. In fact, stress makes up a big percentage of a person's state of wellbeing, showing that as stress heightens, the risk of developing disease increases. On the other hand, managing and coping with stress can effectively stave off physical problems that may escalate to chronic levels.

It is simply impossible to erase stress from our lives, but managing and coping with it is very much doable. Thankfully, decades of research and analyses across various fields, from psychology to medicine, have provided the mass public the needed tools and skills to deal with stress.

Create Work-Life Balance

Life does not encompass work alone; having a life outside your job will do wonders to your overall wellbeing. Taking time to engage in hobbies such as sports or music can dramatically lift half of stress's burden. Balance plays a big role, and spending just the right amount of time for work will stretch your time and energy for the essential areas of your life- family and friendships, hobbies and passions, leisure and rest.

Breathe

Breathing sounds so simple, yet mindfulness and breath experts always stress that people these days seem to forget "the art of breathing". Deep breathing can do wonders to your mood, as it is naturally calming, as proven scientifically. The abundant amount of oxygen you take in with a good breathing rhythm helps relax the nerves and provides better brain function. Breathing clears your head and gives you a sense of grounding and better awareness of your thoughts and feelings.
