Ashley Gardner, who has been trying to have a baby for eight years delivered two sets of twins of twins as she joins in the Mother's Day celebrations for the first time.

Women across the U.S. were honored and celebrated on Mother's Day, which has become a family tradition, just like Thanksgiving Day.

While Mother's day celebrations are a big hit across the country, for Ashley Gardner it was even more special.

Based in Utah, Ashley Gardner and her husband Tyson were trying to conceive for eight years. They turned to IVF treatment after they realized natural conception was not working. Reflecting on her Mother's Day celebrations in the past, Gardner said it had "been a difficult holiday for her."

In a rare occurrence on one in a million, two fertilized eggs Ashley was carrying split into 2. Ashley found herself pregnant with two sets of twins. The quadruplets were named Indie, Esme, Scarlett and Evie.

"The past few years of not being a mother on Mother's Day has been very rough on me," Ashley wrote on her blog. "It was just a reminder of everything I wanted but was not and didn't know if I ever would be - not knowing if this joy would ever come or if I would ever experience this 'love of a mother' people speak of."

"I dreaded the holiday more than anything. The reminder of everything I was not and may never be kept pounding on my heart," she added.

"This year my dreams have come true! I am a mommy this year to the four most beautiful girls in the world," Gardner continued. "In past years I would walk by the kids' clothing stores and turn my head the other way. I couldn't even look in without feeling like my heart would shatter into a million pieces."

This year marks Ashley's first Mother's Day celebrations, since she became a mum, and she is convinced she has noticed a profound difference:

"Today, as we went shopping for me, I found myself in all of the children's stores squealing at everything in my girls' size," she wrote on her blog post.

Ashley is encouraging other women to empower themselves during Mother's Day celebratios by undergoing fertility treatments she went through: "I just want to tell everyone out there waiting for 'your turn', you are amazing. Don't give up on your dreams, whatever they may be."

"There is happiness in the future - even if you can't see it now," said Ashley in the Gardner Quad Squad. You can follow up on the twins on Facebook.
