Call her Caitlyn.

This is the official banner of the July Vanity Fair issue that features Caitlyn Jenner, who was formerly called Bruce Jenner. Only a few hours after the cover was published online via the magazine's official Twitter account, the Internet was abuzz.

Prior to the magazine interview, Caitlyn sat down in an intimate interview with Diane Sawyer for 20/20, where she talked about her gender transition, which began in the 1980s. Around this time, she was already taking hormones to soften her features. However, when she met Kris Kardashian, she eventually stopped it for the next 20-plus years, the length of time she's been married to the Kardashian matriarch.

She also shared how she has always associated herself to being a woman ever since she was young, even cross-dressing and undergoing certain plastic surgeries. Nevertheless, she has to keep her identity hidden for a long time.

Aside from the interview, Caitlyn also appeared in a two-part special episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, wherein she finally revealed the entire truth and decision to her family, including Kris. She's also set to star to in a documentary that is composed of 8 episodes, following her life as she completes her transition.

The Vanity Fair cover, meanwhile, is now being called as one of its most powerful. Nevertheless, the magazine has to take great lengths to ensure that the content, especially the photos, isn't leaked to the public. This includes taking away all mobile devices of those who attended the shoot, editing and removing the file on the same day, and plugging the content in a single computer that doesn't have any Internet connection.

After the cover was unveiled, Caitlyn launched her own Twitter account, which was immediately verified. In less than 5 hours, she's already generated more than a million followers, a feat that's unique for the social media website.
