He Was Bullied For Growing His Hair, His Reason Will Leave You In Tears

A boy was bullied for two years because he was growing his hair. Little do others know that the reason behind his act is a noble one. He is actually growin his hair to donate to cancer patients.

Christian McPhilamy became interested in donating hair when he saw a St. Jude Children's Research Hospital commercial about cancers in children. That was two years ago when he was just six years old.

At a young age, he was determined to extend his hands to help others. "I told him that's where you donate your hair to kids with cancer, to make wigs from your hair," Christian's mom, Deeanna Thomas, said to Florida Today. "And he said, I want to do that."

According to Fox News, the charity called Children With Hair Loss receives donations from people who wants their hair to be converted into wigs for cancer patients to use. According to them, only 1 in 50 donations come from boys.

However, as time went on, Christian has been bullied constantly for his appearance. When interviewed in the Today Show, he told them, "Sometimes they would call me a girl." Yet despite the antics of other people ridiculing his looks, he was determined to help others and continued to grow his hair.

After more than two years, he was able to grow four pieces of 10-inch ponytails. He was truly an inspiration not only for those who have cancer but also to those who also wants to make a change for patients with cancer.

Deeanna said, "Christian has such a huge heart. I don't even know if there are words to describe how proud I am of him."
