“The Flash” season 2 is coming soon and it looks like Detective Joe West will have a new partner alongside him. Fans of the hit DC show are well aware that when its first season ended, one of its major plot points was the death of Eddie Thawne, played by Rick Cosnett.

In order to defeat the bad guy, Eobard Thawne or the Reverse Flash – played by Matt Letscher – who was actually one of Eddie’s descendants from the future, he had to kill himself. Killing himself erased the existence of all of the descendants under his line.

Eddie’s decision will create a lot of ripples in the timeline of “The Flash,” as pointed out by Blastr. Now that Eddie is out of the picture – as of the moment, anyway – Joe will be getting his new partner in “The Flash” season 2.

Based in the comic book source material, Patty Spivot, a forensic blood analyst, who also works for the Central City Police Department Crime Lab, was actually the assistant of Barry Allen or the Flash, played by Grant Gustin. She had always harbored romantic feelings towards her colleague, but has never attempted to open up about her emotions.

Now, though, with rumors of Patty being Joe’s new partner, based on the audition videos obtained by Comic Book, a new relationship between Patty and Barry just might spark. According to the rumor mill, Patty is the “spunky, fun, and funny” and “bright and scientific-minded” character that “The Flash” season 2 has already sent a casting call for.

Unfortunately, the audition videos have now been locked and can only be accessed through a certain password. Thankfully, though, some scene descriptions have made their way to the Internet. According to the leaked scenes, Patty will be sharing a scene with Joe as she tells her that he can absolutely trust her even if she has still not fully understood the existence of the meta-humans yet.
