"X-Men: Apocalypse" production is on a roll! Cast member Olivia Munn demonstrated Psylocke's katana skills and Channing Tatum confirms his Gambit's (dis)appearance in the 2016 installment.
While fans are busy rummaging for updates on the "X-Men: Apocalypse" production, cast member Olivia Munn gladly shared details with her fans. On her Instagram account, the 35-year-old actress revealed her katana training as an "X-Men: Apocalypse" cast member.
Bringing fans in awe, the American actress fiercely practiced the movement of her katana, with her real-life beau quarterback Aaron Rodgers attempting to do the same behind her. Olivia Munn will portray Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock, also known as Psylocke in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse" film set for a 2016 release date.
Psylocke who will debut come "X-Men: Apocalypse" release date in 2016 will be among the many new mutants. Marvel defines her powers as able to "generate a telekinetic katana, or direct her telekinesis through her fists to strikes as if she had superhuman strength. She is also immune to telepathic probes and attacks."
Olivia Munn joined the stellar cast members of the installment last April, according to DigitalTrends. Set for a May 27, 2016 release date, other cast members of "X-Men: Apocalypse" include returning veterans to the franchise such as James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicolas Hault and Rose Byrne. The cast of new breed of mutants includes Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Ben Hardy.
Meanwhile, there had been rumors about another possible "X-Men: Apocalypse" character joining and it is no less than Gambit, to be portrayed by Channing Tatum. Initially, "Magic Mike XXL" star revealed that there was a huge possibility of a first appearance for Gambit in "X-Men: Apocalypse" but soon after, the actor confirmed otherwise.
In a report by IGN, Tatum revealed that indeed Gambit will not be making an appearance in "X-Men: Apocalypse" during the AMA Reddit in June. When asked if he was an official cast member and will make an appearance in the 2016 installment, Tatum simply said, "No ma'am, or sir. I definitely will not."
