Speculations trudged forward with some reports revealing that the online streaming network is close to renewing season 4 driving fans crazy happy about the move.
However, reportedly this isn't factual. "The Following" cast member Shawn Ashmore who portrays FBI agent Mike Weston revealed the harrowing truth behind the rumors of Netflix. Replying to a fan's desperate question for season 4 renewal on the streaming site. Ashmore said "No!" via his official Twitter account.
Early reports revealed that at some point, Netflix has been considered to house season 4 after "The Following" was cancelled. According to HollywoodNewsDaily, producer Warner Bros. Television is currently courting streaming media Netflix for season 4, and while there has been no official answer yet neither from the people behind the show nor the online channel, fans remain hopeful.
Meanwhile, the petition to save "The Following" season 4 from cancellation continues albeit in a much slower pace. With a target of 25,000 signatures in hopes to bring back the show, only a little bit over 13,000 signatures have been acquired so far.
Plans for "The Following" season 4 have already been revealed despite the cancellation. The next chapter will reportedly focus on going after the "serial killer organization" while keeping Ryan Hardy's (Kevin Bacon) idea of death a status quo.
