Latest screenshots for "Monster Hunter X" 3DS reveal the new areas and monsters in the game.

Capcom released a new set of screenshots for "Monster Hunter X" 3DS. Dinovaldo, one of the game's four main monsters, is shown with its long, deadly tail. It is known as the Cutting Wyvern with its sword-shaped tail. The exterior of the Crimson Wyvern's tail is made out of highly flammable iron which erupts in coils of flames when heated by friction.

Ancient Forest is a place on a vast island which has its own ecosystem and primitive vegetation. A huge herbivorous species named "Rimosetos" can be found in the Ancient Forest. Their long necks allow them to eat leaves and fruits from high places.

A Bird Wyvern, the Maccau, also lives in the Ancient Forest in "Monster Hunter X" 3DS. The leader of the Maccau pack is named The Great Maccau. Previous "Monster Hunter" characters Zinogre, Tigrex, Rathalos, and Brachydios will be returning to the game.

Felyne Palicoes will also return as companions for hunters in "Monster Hunter X" 3DS. There are different Felyne Palicoes that will help players battle against large or small monsters; others can lay traps or heal wounds. The Felyne Plaza is where the Felyne Palicoes gather together.

Siliconera reported that "Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate" players will get a little bonus in "Monster Hunter X" 3DS. Series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto revealed that players who have saved data on the 3DS from "MH4U" will receive "something" that will come in handy while hunting in the upcoming game. "Monster Hunter Diary DX" will also provide "Monster Hunter X" 3DS players with a bonus.

"Monster Hunter X" 3DS is slated for a winter release in Japan this year. No word yet on the western release date. It will be bringing new elements to the hunt. It features new flashy moves called "Hunting Arts" as well as new actions called "Hunting Styles."
