“The Flash” season 2 continue to be one of the most awaited shows of the season, and fans are thankful that its show runners have been quite generous in giving away some of its key details. In providing more information about the show’s plot, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg also revealed who the big villain is going to be.
“Our big bad this season is going to be Zoom, which we are very excited about,” Kreisberg revealed during the recent 2015 San Diego Comic-Con International, according to Digital Spy. “He is going to be faster than the Reverse Flash, faster than the Flash, and it is going to be very hard to catch him.”
Plus, a new batch of characters will also be introduced into “The Flash” season 2 storyline. “Jay Garrick is obviously integral to ‘The Flash’ mythology,” Kreisberg added. “He was the original Flash and he has never really been portrayed to our knowledge in live action.”
Now that “The Flash” show runners managed to successfully introduce their version of The Flash into the DC universe, they want to “bring on the original Flash and create a brand new relationship for Barry to have.”
“The episode number, ‘Flash 1.23’ – where his helmet was introduced – is actually the number of ‘The Flash’ comic where Barry Allen met Jay Garrick, which Andrew and I thought was very strange, but cool,” Geoff Johns of DC shared. “Very geeky!”
The Jay Garrick role will be played by Teddy Sears from “Masters of Sex.” In addition to Jay Garrick, “The Flash” season 2 will also be featuring Patty Spivot, played by Shantel VanSanten from “The Messengers.” “This year, we are also going to be adding Wally West!” Kreisberg chimed in. Sadly, though, there has been no news on who will be cast for Wally West.
