“Suicide Squad” is one of today’s most awaited DC films. Although the blockbuster is due for a release date in 2016, rumors about its sequel have already surfaced on the Internet.

According to the rumor mill, the “Suicide Squad” sequel just might feature Poison Ivy. After all, she has only had one theatrical appearance so far, despite being a major villain in Batman’s universe. in “Batman and Robin,” Poison Ivy was portrayed by Uma Thurman. Since DC is planning to go all out in their movies, it is highly likely that they will give way for all DC superheroes and villains in the films to come.

Holland Roden, who is part of the “Teen Wolf” season 5 cast as Lydia, is reportedly a good choice for Poison Ivy. In the highly watched MTV show, the character that she portrays is a chemistry genius who is also a Banshee. She also possesses supernatural powers that draw her towards murder scenes. That said, her exposure on “Teen Wolf” season 5 just might be the experience needed that can help her land a spot in the Gotham City Sirens, according to MTV.

Apart from Roden, Karen Gillan might also be cast as Poison Ivy. She played a badass meanie, Nebula, in “Guardians of the Galaxy,” as well as a sexy redhead in “Doctor Who,” Amy Pond.

Poison Ivy is a very popular villain character to those who have remained loyal to the DC comic books. One thing that makes her a very interesting character is that she has a less than platonic relationship with Harley Quinn – a character that Margot Robbie plays in “Suicide Squad.”

When “Harley Quinn” comic book writers Amanda Connor and Jimmy Palmiotti revealed that Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are “girlfriends” during a question and answer session on Twitter, fans of the “Suicide Squad” sequel were sent into a frenzy.
