The "No Man's Sky" release date may push through this year.

Although there is no word yet on the "No Man's Sky" release date, Crossmap reported that Hello Games and Sean Murray are confident that the game will be released in PS4 this year. Plus, a PC version is said to be available by next year.

Game creator Sean Murray hinted at the possibility of the game coming to virtual reality consoles such as Sony's Morpheus and the Oculus Rift. Hello Games' adventure survival video game would be the best early Morpheus app if it would delve into VR.

"It's something we're thinking about. Morpheus, Oculus," Murray admitted. "There's nothing more cool and sci-fi than VR and a big procedural universe."

The game can now be pre-ordered at Amazon U.K. and is priced at £49.99 or about $73.29. The cost is slightly higher than the average Indie game, which may heighten the anticipation felt by fans.

However, with 18 quintillion planets to explore, the hefty price tag may be worth it after all. "We are attempting to do things that have never been done before," Murray said.

Sean Murray has revealed some interesting details about "No Man's Sky" gameplay. In an interview with Edge magazine, via GamesRadar, the Hello Games boss revealed that players will definitely lose track of their ship and may even lose their way in the process.

"I have this [design] argument with the guys all the time, but if I hand someone the controller, the first thing they'll do is lose their ship," Murray said.

"Even in games like 'Far Cry 4,' 'Dragon Age' or 'The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion,' which are huge worlds, there are pathways. They want me to go this way to get some plant at the top of a mountain, but I prefer to go this way, and I'll just buggily hop up. We don't have those predefined pathways."
