After the hype on "Kingdom Hearts 3" confirmed maps, it seems that Square Enix may have not such a happy update to follow: release date comes after "Final Fantasy XV" and will be most likely be in 2017?
Latest news on the highly anticipated "Kingdom Hearts 3" reveal a not-so-good-news about the Square Enix game in that the release date will not be anytime soon---possibly two more years of waiting for fans worldwide.
A report by Gaming Bolt revealed that there is still much to work on to bring back Sora and the gang and the keyblade to work. "While we're getting some very specific information about Final Fantasy 15, we're getting some rather vague but steady information about 'Kingdom Hearts 3'," the report pointed out.
The report was based on a lengthy interview with "Kingdom Hearts 3" director Tetsuya Nomura, where progress on "Kingdom Hearts 3" seems to be slowing down, making the speculated 2017 release date a close possibility.
Talking to Gamesradar, Nomura said, "For the most part we've established the ground foundations, like the basic systems and mechanics of what's going to go in the game. Development of that is pretty much close to complete."
While it's still pretty good news from there, Nomura explained further about the development process.
"But of course, since this is an HD title, it's now building the resources, and development of the 'mass' elements of it, like mass production of the areas and the actual things that are going into the game," Nomura pointed out in the same interview.
"Other elements, including the mini-games and other various smaller items; their progress is very varied... some of them are polished and very close to final state, but at the same time some elements are still in the planning phases and I haven't laid out the groundwork yet," added the "Kingdom Hearts 3" director.
Previous reports revealed that release date for "Kingdom Hearts 3" is speculated to be announced in the coming Japan D23 Expo this year. Fingers crossed release date won't be later than 2017 at the most.
