The "Heroes Reborn" cast promised to bring back the greatness of the original show.
MTV reported that the "Heroes Reborn" cast revealed during San Diego Comic-Con last July that the latest mini-series will try to achieve the magic of the original 2006 show.
Thanks to Claire Bennett (Hayden Panettiere), the world finally knows about people with superpowers after she publicly revealed her own abilities at the end of the fourth season. Now, the "Heroes Reborn" cast admitted that the tone of the show has shifted because of that.
"It's suddenly dark and ominous," Robbie Kay said. "I think once [the world] realized that there are people with supernatural abilities, everyone kind of started freaking out."
Judi Shekoni, who plays new character Joanne Collins, admitted that she considers herself as a huge fan of "Heroes." She also revealed that the upcoming mini-series will stay true to the original.
"What's so great is ['Heroes Reborn'] keeps all the elements that people really enjoyed in the original," Shekoni said. "It has a higher story about love and conflict between people and groups which everyone can identify with."
"Heroes Reborn" cast Gatlin Green also confirmed that the mini-series may finally give die-hard fans their closure. "The original series kind of ended on a cliffhanger - it 'says to be continued,'" Green said.
"I know a lot of fans were like, 'Aw, we want more, I want to figure out what happened!' This kind of gives it closure, and lets you know what became of the characters and the world... and there's just a lot of new stuff, and there's going to be roller coasters of awesome."
Green added that there will be a lot of new stuff and several different characters as well as storylines.
"We are remaking 'Heroes,'" Henry Zebrowski told MTV. "'Heroes Reborn' is that. It's a whole new show. It's darker, it's intense. It's really exciting. You don't really know what's going to happen in the show, it's a lot of twists and turns. And I think people will be really into it."
