MTV Challenge's pioneer star, 32 years old Diem Brown has succumbed to cancer last November 14, 2014. Her battle with cancer has inspired many individuals from all walks of life. She was cancer-free for many years until it recurred in 2012.

The MTV network finally released their official statement,"MTV is tremendously sad to hear the news that Diem Brown has lost her long battle with cancer. We send our deepest condolences to her family and friends. Diem was a true fighter and brought passion to everything she touched. We will miss her."

Diem was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 23. After undergoing surgery to remove her ovaries, fallopian tubes and some lymph nodes, she was declared cancer free. In 2006, she then joined the network's reality show, "Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat".

She had been part of the series for years but in 2012, she admitted that she had a relapse of cancer cells. Though saddened by the news, she showed strength and hope. She was an inspiration to all individuals suffering from cancer. In August this year, her condition worsened as she collapsed in the set of the show. Apparently, her cancer has already spread to her colon.

For months, she kept the public updated on her condition through regular Tweets and Instagram posts. But in the last few days of her life, her posts reflected of her worsening condition. In fact, her post last Tuesday was rather a sad news for everyone as she said that her doctors are giving up on her but she is determined to fight.

In an interview with People Magazine last October, she said that, "I want a person to know that the fight is worth it, and that's something that's so important for me." In the last few weeks, her friends often visited her in New York. Instagram posts of photos of Brown and friends circulated online.

Brown has shown strength amidst the hard battle with cancer. She still believes that life is beautiful despite the traumatic experience she had gone through. Her friends took time to express their loss through social media pertaining to Brown as a strong woman and a well-loved friend.
