Ian Somerhalder will be directing parts of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7.
The "TVD" star, who portrays Damon Salvatore in the series, recently did a Q&A session through the show's official Facebook page. He admitted that he will be directing parts of "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 "around Christmas time."
The actor has posted several photos on his Instagram account showing him working behind the scenes. It was reported that Ian Somerhalder might leave "The Vampire Diaries" to appease his wife, Nikki Reed.
"Looking into the future," Ian Somerhalder previously captioned a photo of his eye peeking out of a hole. "Love, Ian." In another photo, he thanked his fans for six years on the air and for putting them on the top TV shows list. The actor also posted an image of his Damon Salvatore season 1 look for the test trailer.
One of the fans asked Somerhalder if he is excited to be back to play the darker side of his character. He admitted that he is very excited and will try to bring the Damon of "The Vampire Diaries" season 1 back.
The actor did tease fans when he was asked whether his character will repeat his previous cold and murderous attitude. "You'll just have to wait and see," Ian replied.
Ian Somerhalder also confirmed that the darker versions of the other characters will also make an appearance in "The Vampire Diaries" season 7. MTV speculated that the actor might be referring to Lily Salvatore's mini-army or with Stefan becoming "full ripper again."
The actor also hinted on the possibility of the Salvatore brothers' tension in "The Vampire Diaries" season 7. A fan asked whether Stefan and Damon will stay close now that Elena is gone.
"Boys don't always see eye to eye on everything, but they will always have each others' backs," the actor answered.
Plus, fans can get to see a shirtless Damon in "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 as confirmed by Ian Somerhalder.
