Tyson Foods has issued a recall on thousands of chicken pounds after consumers complained about "bad odor."

According to a statement released by the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) under the Department of Agriculture (USDA), Tyson Foods, which is based in Arkansas, recalls more than 52,000 pounds of chicken wings specifically Any'tizers Fully Cooked Hot Wings. These are chicken wings that have been coated with a special tangy and hot sauce. The product has been distributed all over the country.

The product has a sell-by date on either October 24 or 25, 2016, and weighs 28 ounces per bag. Each bag contains a number of chicken wing pieces. It also bears the code P-13456, which is the establishment number. It is found under the mark of the USDA after inspection and near the heating instructions.

The recall is based on multiple calls from consumers, complaining about the "off odor" of the product. Others have also mentioned feeling mildly ill after eating the chicken wings, although both Tyson Foods and FSIS clarify that so far, there are no serious reactions from consumers. It has been classified as a class II recall, which means adverse health effects are considered remote.

Nevertheless, Tyson Foods and FSIS are urging the public who have brought the product not to eat it anymore. Instead, they can throw the bag or return the purchase and seek a refund.

Tyson Foods have already notified their consumers through their website and social media accounts like Facebook on Monday, Nov 16. They are also encouraging the public to check the USDA website regularly for a full list of stores that have received the product. Meanwhile, FSIS will continue to monitor the recall to ensure that all consumers are duly notified and that consumers can no longer obtain the product subject for recall.
