George R.R. Martin, ‘Winds Of Winter’ Release Date Coming This Spring? ‘Never Believe Rumors,’ Author Says

George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter" release date is rumored to be coming this spring. However, the "Song of Ice and Fire" author has warned fans not to believe in mere speculations.

Kdramastars reported that rumors about the highly-anticipated "Winds of Winter" release date have been rampant nowadays. However, George R.R. Martin has previously warned fans to be discerning when it comes to this type of news.

In Martin's July post, entitled "Back in the USA," user mcsubbaiyen asked whether the author was really able to finish writing "Son of Kong" according to rumors.

"Never believe rumors," he replied to the comment. "I've said that a thousand times."

Speaking of speculations, George R.R. Martin's recent appearance in SyFy channel's "Z Nation" has sparked allegations that the "Winds of Winter" release date will happen this spring.

According to Vine Report, in the episode, Martin is introduced as a celebrity who is "part of a collection." He is shown autographing a copy of his book entitled "A Promise of Spring."

Fans were quick to point out that the title was actually a clue on George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter" release date. Apparently, the highly-anticipated book could be available this coming spring.

However, the "Song of Ice and Fire" author has not made any official announcements regarding the release of "WoW." Martin even went so far as to refuse discussing his progress.

This led a lot of fans to wonder on whether the book is even being prioritized. The latest George R.R. Martin, "Winds of Winter" release date news was when the author announced that Cinemax has ordered a script for his werewolf noir novel, "The Skin Trade."

In his Live Journal blog, Martin admitted that he would have loved to be more hands-on with the show but a certain book had to be finished first.

"And no, while I would have loved to write the script and run the show myself, that was never really in the cards," he wrote. "I have this book to finish. You know the one."
