There are speculations that Nina Dobrev is being called back for "The Vampire Diaries" while Ian Somerhalder may be booted out.
According to Realty Today, "The Vampire Diaries" cast wants Ian Somerhalder out and Nina Dobrev back in.
Movie News Guide commented that the "TVD" team apparently has no problem with the 26-year-old actress' attitude while Somerhalder could be booted out because of his bad behavior.
It was previously reported that Ian Somerhalder is said to be relieved that Nina Dobrev has left "The Vampire Diaries."
The tension might actually have started when the ex-couple broke up and now that the "Final Girls" star is out of the picture, the 36-year-old doesn't have to deal with the pressure on set anymore.
Apparently, Nina Dobrev kept the actor "in check" and, now that she has left the series, no one is pulling Somerhalder back to earth. Since then, he is said to have been acting more like a "diva" during production.
This may be causing more friction on the "TVD" set and could be the reason why "The Vampire Diaries" cast wants Nina Dobrev back and Somerhalder out.
In his interview with Variety, the "TVD" actor revealed that they have already started shooting "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 episode 10.
"The episode was really about Damon, but that's not why I think it was the best at all," he told the publication.
"The way the story was put together ... every artisan from set to producers to wardrobe to everyone was just so on-point."
Meanwhile, exec producer Julie Plec has previously admitted that she thinks that "The Vampire Diaries" will only last until season 7. However, she also revealed that they have not thought that far ahead yet.
"It's not on our radar yet," she told Entertainment Weekly. "Warner Bros. would say, '17 seasons!' And I think I would say, 'Seven!' [Laughs] Presumably we'll land somewhere closer to my wishes or theirs, depending on the circumstances."
