Duchess of Alba died at the age of 88.

The world's most titled Aristocrats and one of Spain's richest, and the 18th Duchess of Alba died last November 20, 2014.

María del Rosario Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart y de Silva, the 18th Duchess of Alba de Tormes, Grandee of Spain, one of Europe's richest, and Guinness World Record's most titled, the head of the House of Alba and the third woman to carry the title in her own right, had died due to complications of Pneumonia last November 20, 2014 at the age of 88.

She is famous for being one of the riches aristocrats owns a lot of palaces and priceless works of arts. She was in headlines years back for marrying a man more than twenty years younger than her.

She was rushed to the hospital due to a stomach virus. After she was showing signs of recovery, she acquired Pneumonia and with her age, one thing led to another. Pneumonia in the elderly entails a serious problem that can lead to complications and even death. The clinical manifestations may differ from younger patients as its incidence is higher at the extremes of age: too young or too old.

She died Tuesday night with her six children and third husband by her side. Her family communicated the news of her death to King Felipe and the royal family. Her remains were laid in Seville's town hall and her funeral was held in the Andalusian capital.

The estimates of her wealth are at a staggering €3.5bn (£2.8bn). It was equally divided by her six children but her 64-year old husband, received nothing from her. Her marriage with Alfonso Díez Carabantes, a civil servant, who is 25 years her junior angered her children because he has little wealth and credentials. To end the family feud, she had laid her plans of inheritance when she will die wherein each of them will get one of her palaces while her husband renounced any claim to her fortune.

The duchess is survived by her husband and six children. Her eldest son, Carlos Fitz-James Stuart, will take over the helm of the family's foundation and a dozen titles.
