Taylor Lianne Chandler, 41, claimed she has been dating Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps as she admitted that she is an intersex, having both male and female sex organs. Apparently, she was born with male genitalia with no testicles and has a uterus without ovaries.

The 29-year old Olympian has been admitted to a rehabilitation facility after being arrested for his second DUI case last September 30, 2014. He has been discharged and is back home. However, another controversy will welcome him upon his discharge. A new drama is on his way which has stirred mixed reactions from people all over the world.

Taylor has been public with her relationship with Phelps as her social media were flooded with romantic details of their getaways from sexual intercourse to intimate moments. She claims she talked to Phelps and admitted her secret. However, reliable sources reveal that he has been ignoring all of Taylor's calls and attempts of communication since the news made headlines last November 20, 2014.

Taylor has admitted that she has undergone many treatment procedures to correct her condition. According to DailyMail, she has been fighting for gender rights because of her experiences in life. "In my early teens I was medically diagnosed and went on testosterone blockers, at 15, estrogen enhancers. My birth certificate was modified along with my name while I was a teenager, prior to any corrective surgery. I originally changed my name to Paige Victoria Whitney. At 16, I legally emancipated from my family. I had already left home at 15. At 18 I got in trouble twice, once for a bad check and then a DUI. At 19 I thought it would be smart to blackmail someone into giving me the money for my surgery. As soon as I received the money I was arrested and charged with extortion. I spent 30 days in jail because I was too ashamed to tell my family what happened thinking no one knew. Even though my birth certificate and driver's license said female they put me in a cell with 3 men and I was raped," she explains.

Intersex is far different from being a transgender. A person who is intersex has no control of their condition because it is a congenital anomaly characterized by having a group of conditions where there is a discrepancy between the external genitals and the internal genitals like the testicles and the ovaries. These can be surgically, medically and hormonally altered to fit into a perceived more socially acceptable sex category.
