A lot of new albums couldn't make it this year, including Rihanna's "Anti." A 2106 release date perhaps?
Aside from Kanye West who is focused on working on his new album and Frank Ocean who has missed the release date for his and remains MIA to this day, Rihanna is also gearing up for her new album titled "Anti" but it seems 2016 isn't even her target year.
A report by GigWise revealed that Rihanna is a wee bit far from finishing her new album, with a release date that could go farther into 2016 or even 2017. While anything is possible, artist Sia has revealed that Rihanna is still in the selection process of adding tracks to the new album. A signal that there is a lot more work to do since finding the right music is just the beginning.
"The other night she came over and listened to half of 25 songs I played her because she's still looking for songs for her new album," Sia revealed.
"She was there to listen to songs and see if there was anything that she was into. It was a business meeting for sure. She took four [songs] but I don't know if they'll end up [on the album]," she added.
It hasn't been confirmed if Sia will be collaborating in the new Rihanna album but from the looks of it, the "Chandelier" singer will be among the stellar artists working with RiRi. While this is still a minor concern for fans, the major focus now is whether Rihanna will be announcing the release date of the new album soon.
The anticipation of the new album and the release date announcement has even led some fans to call out to Rihanna to simple release a greatest hits album rather than a collection of new tracks. TheGuardian pointed out, "What a greatest hits album would have allowed [Rihanna] to do is honour and celebrate that back catalogue - she's released 34 singles, two-thirds of them being in the upper echelons of incredible - but also carefully plant the seeds for where she wants to go next."
To date, Rihanna has yet to reveal new album details, including collaborations and release date.
