In the recently concluded CES 2016 event, GoPro Hero 5 was presented and it was also announced that its Karma drone will be the newest add-on feature.

According to Crossmap, it was shown during the event how the GoPro Hero 5 is designed to fit into the new GoPro Karma drone. Crossmap further stated that if the GoPro Hero 5 would indeed be designed to be small, portable and fit into the Karma drone, then this would make it "the most versatile camera to be built."

Moreover, it is said that Karma Drone has waterproof housing, which can allow owners to take pictures around 60 to 100 meters below water surface level.

Thus, the GoPro Hero 5 with Karma drone is able to take pictures in land, in the air, or underwater. Crossmap further described it as "the first Navy Seal-like camera, is going to come into civilian market."

GoPro Chief Executive Officer Nick Woodman has revealed that the drone will work with previous GoPro models.

"We make everything backwards compatible, our goal is that your older "GoPro" will work with anything new we make, and vice versa," Woodman said to Engadget.

GoPro Hero 5 was previously rumored to release in October last year, but now the grapevine is saying that the release date has been moved to "sometime in the early months of this year." It is still very much in speculation territory. Nothing is confirmed as of the moment.

One of the most exciting features that GoPro Hero 5 will have when it finally comes out is Full Ultra HD video recording capability at 8K pixel quality.

The 8K pixel quality actually doubles the RPS of GoPro action cameras in the GoPro series. Because of this feature, the GoPro Hero 5 can give spectacular 4320 pixels of resolution.
