Music fans from all over the world are still reeling from the death of rock legend, David Bowie. Celebrities have been extending their condolences and paying tribute to the rock star since the news of his death broke out. Even astronauts such as Chris Hadfield, who attained internet success a few years back following his cover of Bowie's "Space Oddity" on the International Space Station going viral, have expressed his sadness over the death of his idol.

It seems like one zoo in Ohio however have stepped up their game and quite possibly gave the most adorable accidental tribute to the one and only Ziggy Stardust.

The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden welcomed a baby penguin last Friday, January 8. The date marked the birthday of David Bowie. Following an online poll asking followers to vote on the penguin's name, the zoo dubbed the chick "Bowie" two days before the legendary icon lost his 18 month battle with cancer.

"Meet Bowie, the first Zoo Baby of 2016! Elvis and Bowie were popular suggestions because today is the birth date of both Elvis Presley and David Bowie. The penguin keepers chose Bowie because we already have a king penguin named Elvis" read the announcement on Facebook.

There has since been an outpouring of kind words for both Bowie the penguin and David Bowie the singer on the zoo's facebook page. Most fans of the singer have expressed their delight over the decision with some calling the gesture fitting and appropriate. One commenter even noticed that the chick bears a passing resemblance to the singer's popular alter ego, Ziggy Stardust.

"His down is the same color as Ziggy Stardust's hair! And look at those glam golden toenails!! Perfect choice as Bowie" quipped Julia Ann Jones on the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden Facebook page.
