The cast of the 90s television show "Friends" is set to reunite after 12 long years since the show ended in 2004, for a two-hour tribute dedicated to sitcom director James Burrows, reported The Guardian on Thursday.

Fans of the hit comedy show are looking forward to seeing Ross, Monica, Rachel, Chandler, Joey and Phoebe together again on screen, but NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt informed reporters that completing the cast may not be a guarantee at this point.

"I'm hoping all six will be in same room at the same time," Greenblatt told reporters. "I'm not sure we can logistically can pull it off."

Reuniting the cast of the decade-long sitcom will be a different direction from the sitcom's co-creator Marta Kauffman's statement on E! News in May 2015 that a reunion would "never happen" and that fans just had to "let it go."

According to BBC News on Thursday, many attempts have been done to reunite David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow, but to no avail.

Matt LeBlanc, however, is giving out a positive outlook on the reunion, tweeting, "Should be a good time!" while Lisa Kudrow retweets LeBlanc's post. The rest of the cast have yet to give their fans a hint on the planned reunion through their tweets, except for Jennifer Aniston who reportedly has no Twitter account.

The two-hour special will be part of NBC network's tribute to Director James Burrows, who has reportedly shot 1,000 episodes, with 15 of which were of "Friends." The broadcast will also be featuring other cast members of Burrows' shows, including "Cheers," "Mike and Molly," "Frasier," "Taxi" and "Will & Grace."

The much-awaited television moment, which will include sketches, cameos and appearances on Burrows' works, is set to be taped in Los Angeles later this month, and is expected to air on Feb. 21 on NBC.
