Amy Schumer was accused of stealing jokes from other comedians.
According to BuzzFeed, there are speculations that the "Trainwreck" star actually stole several jokes from the late Patrice O'Neal and Wendy Liebman, Tammy Pescatelli, and Kathleen Madigan.
The publication noted a now-deleted Twitter conversation that started over the weekend. It began when Wendy Liebman tweeted, "Between Amy Schumer doing 1 of my best jokes on her HBO special & this meme of my joke I'm done with social media."
Afterwards, fellow comedian Chuck Martin implied that Kathleen Madigan had the same experience. Pescatelli joined in and claimed that Schumer had stolen from the work of female comedians.
"What has always been amazing to me is that she purports to be a feminist and yet only steals from other female comedians, if we call her on it we are 'jealous' or career shamed," Pescatelli tweeted. "Be successful. WE want you to do well, just do it with your own material. BTW she blocked me."
The comedians then compared their works with Amy Schumer's such as one scene from "Trainwreck" which is implied to have been stolen from Pescatelli.
USA Today reported that Amy Schumer has denied the allegations. "On my life, I have never and would never steal a joke," she tweeted.
She also defended herself as she made an appearance on Jim Norton's Sirius XM radio show. "I wanted to come and talked to you about (the accusations) and clear my name, because I would never ever do that and I never have," Schumer told the host.
"I have to come up with so much material, for my TV show, this movie, standup, and I'm so careful, and none of these things had ever reached me. I would never do that, it would be so stupid for me to do that."
In a report by Entertainment Weekly, Tammy Pescatelli apologized for accusing Amy Schumer of stealing jokes. "I was the last to the party and I drank the most and was the loudest," she said. "I probably should have just stayed out of it and kept my mouth shut."
