Olympic bronze medalist diver Tom Daley is reportedly engaged to his boyfriend of two years, who happens to be Academy Award-winning director Dustin Lance Black.
According to The Telegraph, the couple announced their engagement subtly via The Times newspaper. The 21-year-old Olympic diver is 20 years younger than his now fiancé Black. The two first revealed their relationship in 2013, when Daley came out through a YouTube video.
In line with their engagement news, their announcement was posted on the Births, Marriages and Death section of "The Times" newspaper where it read, "The engagement is announced between Tom, son of Robert and Debra Daley of Plymouth, and Lance, son of Jeff Bisch of Philadelphia and Anne Bisch of Lake Providence," according to reports by Daily Mail.
People have been speculating that their 20 years age difference might post a problem for Tom Daley and boyfriend Dustin Lance Black but Daley's mother supported the two.
"It's wonderful news, we are extremely happy for them," she told The Telegraph.
"I'll be looking at dresses and hats. There is an age gap, 20 years, but then again age is but a number. I am not sad because in losing Tom I am gaining another, so it makes everything all good. When Tom told me I could just feel the excitement in his voice. Just hearing him feel that excitement made me feel excited. It was a really nice emotion. It was just a special moment. We are all looking forward to it."
Mrs. Daley furthermore added that the rest of their family like Dustin Lance Black and she even joked that everyone gets on with him even if Black is American.
No words yet on when Tom Daley and boyfriend Dustin Lance Black will be married but it was reported by Hollywood Life that the proposal may have happened over the weekend at the park, based on an Instagram post by Dustin Lance black.
