Even before the release date is finalized, there are already games made just for the HTC Vive.
There are more than ten games that are already compatible with the virtual reality technology HTC will be releasing. Valve and Steam's gaming platform are working together with the company and will make the device a frontrunner in the VR Tech market.
According to Tech Times, HTC Vive's advantage in the new VR Tech market is that they will already have 12 games at launch. This is something that other games don't have apart from the actual headset and accessories they are selling. So the Vive should come out as one of the front-runners with the added bonus with the headset.
Some of the games are old and some are brand new but all the games are developed by Valve.
The top picks start with "Job Simulator: the 2050 Archives," where players are thrown into a kitchen and must create stuff without anything exploding. While the game's concept sounds relatively easy, the atmosphere can make players feel pressured to focus since there are a number of distractions set off to make players purposely lose.
"Elite: Dangerous" is perfect for VR Tech since its a space exploration and combat simulator, according to CNET. This game is designed to work well with a headset and makes the player feel like they are really in a cockpit of a space ship. The game "Pilotwings" is similar but, instead of spaceships, players are required to manage an airport and fly planes.
"Fantastic Contraption" takes place in a puzzle environment where players must keep in mind the laws of physics and make various contraptions in order to solve puzzles.
Other games that can be played by or after the HTC Vive release date are "Budget Cuts," "The Gallery: Call Of The Starseed," "Cloudlands: VR Minigolf," "Hover Junkers," "Tilf Brush" and "Audioseed."
In other news, IT Pro UK reported that HTC may allegedly create a completely new company just for the virtual reality business on its release date.
The CEO, Cher Wang, is eager to go through with the splitting in order to save the money that they have earned from their handset business. This is mainly because their sales have decreased dramatically in 2015, losing around $151 million.
The HTC Vive's release date has not yet been announced but they will begin taking pre-orders for their headsets from Feb. 29, 2016, according to Telegraph.
