There is no denying that the thirst for knowledge from "Cosmos" fans has yet to be quenched, which might just be the key for the show to get a second season.
Going by the popularity of season one, Fox Network is planning to release "Cosmos" season 2 soon. The host of the show Neil deGrasse Tyson considers that recent successes of science-oriented shows like ''The Big Bang Theory'' and ''CSI: Crime Scene Investigation'' shows that the people are getting oriented towards science programs. Even films like ''Gravity, showed that "science has become mainstream" and expects Cosmos "will land on hugely fertile ground."
Seth MacFarlane the executive producer of the show and Neil deGrasse Tyson the eminent astrophysicist and host of the show admitted that the talks are on for the release of the season 2.
"Iconic science show 'Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey' isn't dead at Fox," said DeGrasse-Tyson. "We should know soon, within a month possibly.''
"It's certainly educational, but it plays with the flavor of a feature film of sorts," told MacFarlane to Hollywood reporter.
Neil deGrasse Tyson's official Facebook page does not talk about any probable release date yet. National Geographic gives the details of the making of the ''Cosmos'' series and how Neil deGrasse Tyson had met Carl Sagan.
Even some time back ''Cosmos'' Season 2 host Neil deGrasse Tyson had blasted the fans at Conan O'Brien's Show. YHM had reported the entire incident. Watch this space for more news on this upcoming season 2 of "Cosmos- A Spacetime Odyssey."
