A novel drug, Foria Relief, helps to ease menstrual pain in women that has been manufactured using a delivery system that can promote muscle relaxation and also pain relieving properties of cannabis.
Menstrual cramp or dysmenorrhea starts two years after a girl starts getting her menstruation. Menstrual cramps are caused due to contractions of the uterus as it pushes the blood vessels which lie surrounding it. The servere contraction suffocates the blood vessels and cuts off oxygen supply to the muscles of the uterus. Menstrual pain is a result of the lack of oxygen for a brief period of time.
Foria Relief is a tampon-like product that contains 60 mg of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), 10 mg of cannabidiol, and cocoa butter. Women in the US use this drug by putting it inside the vagina.

Nevertheless, this drug can be promising for women to face the distressing days every month due to menstrual cramps.
