The long wait is over for Toy Story fans as a final release date for the upcoming installment has been announced.
According to Bustle, by June 15, 2018, one of the most loved cartoons movies of all time will then be again witnessed by its fans as it premiers on the said date.
It can be recalled that the last movie, "Toy Story 3," was shown almost 6 years ago. Since then, it kept movie-goers hanging for a while, clueless on whether the trilogy will end as is or another movie will be set to continue the characters' adventures.
But unlike its previous three movies which focused more on perilous adventures, the latest installment will give highlight to the then budding love story between Woody and Bo Peep which fans were able to witness but only for a while in the original Toy Story movie.
As reported by Independent, during the D23 conference, John Lasseter, Disney's Chief Creative Officer, mentioned that "Toy Story 4" will be "a love story with Woody and - and this is news - Bo Peep."
Lasseter added that they have never done a "Toy Story" movie before that focuses mainly on a love story.
"At Pixar and at Disney, we only do a sequel if we have come up with something that's as good or better than the original. That's our rule."
Aside from the surprise that movie will be revolving mostly on a love story, other things, as mentioned by Bustle's article, that are expected from "Toy Story 4" include it being a standalone story, a movie directed by John Lasseter, director of Toy Story 1 and 2, Cars and A Bug's Life, and a story co-written by Rashida Jones.
The release date is still more than 2 years from now, and it is expected that most of the details will be revealed as June 15 approaches.
