Since last year, fans of the GoPro action camera were already anticipating the release of the new version of GoPro Hero which is the GoPro Hero 5.
However, for some reasons, rumors were circulating that the release date for this device will be moved to a latter date.
A report from Christian Post states that the GoPro Hero 5 release date will be moved to October 2016. The need for the delay of its release is because GoPro wants to ensure that this new device will definitely be a success.
It can be recalled that when the GoPro Hero 4 was first introduced, it had a starting price of around $399 but was eventually lowered to $199.99 due to lack of sales.
As per Christian Post's report, part of the failure of the GoPro Hero 4 was attributed to GoPro's initial pricing of the device which consumers perceived as hefty for the product.
Another reason which caused the delay is due to the company's current effort in making the GoPro Hero 5 smaller than its predecessors, adding another set of features and pairing it up with GoPro's first drone, the GoPro Karma, as reported by Value Walk.
According to Ecumenical News, the most assuring new feature of the GoPro Hero 5 is the Ultra HD 8K-video format which enables the device to capture in 8K video resolution that is twice the GoPro Hero 4.
Other features include its capability to shoot 60 frames per second, which is twice compared to 30 frames per second capability of Hero 4, and a longer battery life that can continuously shoot videos for two hours.
Unlike the GoPro Hero 4 which only has a 1,160 mAH battery, the Hero 5 is equipped with a larger capacity of 2,800 mAH. Vine Report says that the Hero 5 might also be featuring Bluetooth 4.0 which will enable it to upload files at a much faster speed.
It is expected that the device will be sold at around $450 to $550.
