‘Spider-Man’ Movie 2017 To Be Available in IMAX, Release Date Moved; Film Titled ‘The New Avenger?’

The upcoming "Spider-Man" movie 2017 will be shown in IMAX 3D theaters.

/FILM reported that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have agreed on a deal for a worldwide IMAX release in theaters when the film arrives in 2017. IMAX made the announcement with the two studios last month.

"There's so much about Spider-Man - including the web-slinging action - that lends itself perfectly to the IMAX screen," Josh Greenstein, president of worldwide marketing and distribution for Sony Pictures, said.

"We are confident that audiences everywhere around the world will want to see it in IMAX."

"Imax's long-standing relationship with Marvel and Sony first began with 'Spider-Man' in 2002, establishing the ultimate way for fans to be transported into the world of their favorite characters like Peter Parker," Greg Foster, senior executive vice president of IMAX Corp. and CEO of IMAX Entertainment, added.

"By re-teaming with our friends at Sony and Marvel on the newest Spider-Man reboot, we are excited to deliver audiences what they're asking for: a must-see cinematic adventure - in IMAX."

According to Variety, Sony has moved up the "Spider-Man" movie 2017 release date as well as for the "Jumanji" reboot. The studio has changed the film's release date from Jul. 28, 2017 to Jul. 7, 2017 and will be shown in IMAX theaters.

"Spider-Man" movie 2017 stars Tom Holland as the web-slinging hero and Marisa Tomei as his aunt May. Holland will be making his debut as the hero in this year's "Captain America: Civil War."

Movie News Guide reported that with Spider-Man's upcoming appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and that work on the film has already started. The publication noted that speculations on the official title for "Spider-Man" movie 2017 suggest that it will be named "The New Avenger."

Other rumored titles were "Ultimate Spider-Man" and "Spectacular Spider-Man."

It was previously reported that Iron Man will play a pivotal role in making Peter Parker an Avenger. Apparently, Stark, who has unrestricted access to all S.H.I.E.L.D. files, took note of the young Spidey and his superhuman abilities.
