Bridget Moynahan may have been surprised by the New England Patriots missing the Super Bowl 2016 but her ex Tom Brady had much deeper feelings after their game with the Denver Broncos.
As reported by the New York Post, the quarterback opened about those last few moments that might have helped his team clinch the game.
"The season just ended," the 38-year-old told retired baseball player Derek Jeter at the Player's Tribune as quoted by the source above. "We blew it. We had a good chance."
As previously reported, Tom Brady was not alone in feeling sad for missing Super Bowl 2016. His ex Bridget Moynahan also took to social media after the loss to express herself.
"I am totally surprised," she tweeted. "Congratulations @Broncos. Sad to see the @Patriots season finished."
The Denver Broncos won the game 20-18 after Brady's pass, which was expected to tie the game, was intercepted. Sports Illustrated also cited the loss to poor defense with the University of Michigan graduate taking on so many hits at the time.
Despite missing the Super Bowl 2016, Tom Brady, who shares a son with Bridget Moynahan, will still be in San Francisco this weekend. As told by ESPN, NFL has confirmed his attendance to the pre-game ceremony that will honor football MVPs.
Though the New England Patriots season finished this year, the NFL player's dad said his son was already looking forward into the next season.
"Tommy is a football player," Tom Brady Sr. told CBS Sports.
"This is not a July-January or February endeavor for him. He loves two-a-days that started for him a week ago that will be two-a-days from Jan. 20 to the next February. He has a countdown clock in his gym that is now ticking to next year's Super Bowl. It's clicking, yes. And he is still doing his two-a-days."
