"Orange Is the New Black" gets a season 4 and more.
Netflix just signed on the television series for three more seasons. The stories centered around the fictional Litchfield Federal women's prison will be on air for a long time.
“Three more years!" exclaimed Jenji Kohan, the show's writer and creator, on Los Angeles Times, as they prepare for "Orange Is The New Black" season 4. "Not quite a political term, but still plenty of time to do some interesting things. In some cultures, ‘May you lead an interesting life,’ is a curse, but I don't live in those cultures."
“And kudos and gratitude to the stellar cast and crew and writers and producers and editors and musicians and mixers and shleppers... with whom I have the pride and honor of crafting this show. Three more years! Three more years!”
Furthermore, Kohan will reportedly remain on the show as the guiding force for seasons five, six and seven.
This is great news for the cast that just won big at the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016. According to Music Times, the show reportedly got the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and actress Uzo Aduba took home the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series award. This is reportedly the second year in a row that the television series won both SAG awards.
Season 4 of "Orange Is The New Black" will start on June 17 on Netflix with Taylor Schilling, Laura Prepon, Michael J. Harney, Michelle Hurts, Kate Mulgrew, Jason Biggs, Uzo Aduba, Danielle Brooks, Natasha Lyonne, Selenis Leyva, Adrienne Moore, Dascha Polanco, Nick Sandow, Yael Stone, Samira Wiley, Jackie Cruz, Lea DeLaria and Taryn Manning.
The show is all about the story of Piper Chapman who was sentenced to 15 years in prison after getting caught for drug trafficking. Now she must be able to adapt to prison life at the Litchfield Pentinentiary, a ficitonal facility located in upstate New York.
