Bobby Brown celebrated his first birthday since the death of daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown in July last year.

And the former New Edition singer just gained a lot of perspective about his priorities as he shared a photo of her 6-month-old baby daughter on Instagram on his birthday on Feb. 5.

He captioned the image, "My gift."

The investigation into Bobbi Kristina Brown's death is still open, according to Fulton County District Attorney's Office. The conservator of her estate filed a wrongful death lawsuit against boyfriend Nick Gordon, although the former baseball player has not been criminally charged yet.

E! News reported that Bobby Brown will celebrate his birthday with his wife, Alicia Etheredge and their kids, Cassius, 6, and Bodhi.

The alleged insider dished, "Bobby will be remembering the wonderful days with the family that is no longer here-Krissi, Whitney and his parents. Under the circumstances, he is doing as good as can be expected."

The source added that Bobby Brown is coping up with the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown.

"When a person goes through something like this it makes you look around and think, 'What the hell is going on?'" the insider added. "When you bury your child, it's just really hard-it's not how it's supposed to go."

Meanwhile, Bobby Brown's sister, Leolah revealed on Facebook that her new tell-all book that will supposedly shed light on Bobbi Kristina Brown's death is almost ready.

She wrote, "My Publicist and I Have Been Working Very Hard To Get This Over To You For The Sake Of My Sister, Mrs. Whitney Houston Brown-And My Niece-Bobbi Kristina Brown. And Believe Me-It Is Well Worthy Of The Wait-HANDS DOWN!!!"

Leolah Brown has been accusing not just Nick Gordon, but also Pat and Gary Houston, of having a hand in Bobbi Kristina Brown's death. She claimed that the couple has been after the $20 million estate left behind by Whitney Houston to her only daughter.
