The original DC Vertigo comic book series, "Preacher," will finally be coming to your television screen with an all new twist of story line diverged from the comic itself.
Executive producers, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, themselves revealed in-depth details about the newest TV series in town that will surely give fans a whole lot foreboding and portentous violence. Excited?
Apparently, changes are inevitable when adapting anything into an alternate medium. That said, both executive producers revealed that AMC's "Preacher" will be a slight different from its source material.
"I don't know that you could translate it directly [from the comic]," said Rogen, according to Blastr. "We love the comic...but our first and foremost goal is to make a great, entertaining, fun television show that if you never heard of the comic book, you love. We want the show to be fun for regular people without sick sensibilities," he pointed out.
In fact, a great deal of little changes are necessary to make "Preacher" a decent TV most importantly.
"We want fans to get everything they loved of the comic and still get some twists and turns," Goldberg added.
For those who are unfamiliar, AMC's TV series, as noted by "Preacher" Wikia, will take after an account of a conflicted "Preacher" named Jesse Custer, who lives in a small Texas Town. Jesse is possessed by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop an exceptionally capricious force.
Jesse alongside with his ex-girlfriend Tulip and an Irish vampire named Cassidy, embark on a journey to, literally, find God.
It is also worth noting that rolling out a little changes in the TV series adaptation doesn't altogether imply that they're going to entirely ease up on "Preacher's" violence. It only means that the show will have its fair share of action and gore balanced with humor.
"There's lots of violence and drama, but there's always comedy throughout," Rogen declared. "We have characters who do really horrific things in one episode and then come back and do really silly things."
AMC's "Preacher" is coming and viewers only need to wait a little bit longer as the TV series is scheduled to premiere sooner or later in mid-2016 with its ten episodes.
