The speakers on the Asus Zenwatch 2 can come to life because of Android Wear.
Android Wear will reportedly be receiving an update in a couple of weeks that will give all compatible devices new features to use. The update will activate the speakers in the Huawei Watch and the ASUS Zenwatch 2.
According to Neowin, Google has expanded the capabilities of Android Wear by adding new ways for users to navigate devices. there were already gestures that were being used, like flicking the wrist for cards. The new update will enhance the experience even further by adding even more gestures.
"Navigate your watch with new gestures," updated the Android Blog. "Scrolling up and down your card stream is as simple as flicking your wrist. Starting today, you can also expand a card, bring up your apps or return home to your watch face with a push, lift or shake. You'll be able to stay connected to what’s important while keeping your phone (or other hand) in your pocket."
Apart from this, more messages can be sent with just your voice. They are reportedly compatible with apps like Google Hangouts, Nextplus, Telegram, Viber, WeChat and WhatsApp.
Lastly, is to be able to make calls and listen to messages and use speakers. According to the site, watches with speakers like the Asus Zenwatch 2 and the Huawei watch will be able to use it to take calls over Bluetooth.
Android Wear is not only customizable but also has a number of brands to choose from. Apart from sending messages and taking calls, it also has a built-in fitness monitor, music, Google maps and so many different games and useful apps.
The watch doesn't just work well by itself, it is also compatible with an Android phone and even an iPhone.
The update will reportedly be coming in a few weeks.
The Asus Zenwatch 2 comes in two sizes, the 1.63-inch and the 1.45-inch watch, three stainless steel colors, fashionable straps and casings, Zenwatch message, smart assistant and speakers.
The smartwatch retails for $129 in their Official Asus Store.
